Writer Prada Abhi Subedi has received the 'Yuvraj Kandel Smriti Award' given by Village of English Writers (VUE) Chitwan, an organization of English language writers this year.
Sharda Thapalia, Vice Chancellor of Agriculture and Forestry University, handed over the award to Subedi in a program held on Saturday in Sauraha. The prize money is 25 thousand rupees.
The former president of Vyu Chitwan, Ishwar Kandel, established the award in memory of his father. Prada Subedi's contribution to Nepali and English literature, as well as English education, was given by the president of Vue Chitwan, Keshavraj Chalise said. Chalise said that Subedi has made an important and excellent contribution to English-Nepali writing from the stage. It is said that Subedi's strong presence can be seen in
poems, essays, stories and he played a role in making English-Nepali writing universal. On this occasion, View has completed the program from presentation of working papers to panel discussion by making 'Literature, Ecology and Conservation' as the topic. Similarly, poems prepared based on the environment were also recited in the program.
Keshavraj Chalise, president of Vue Chitwan, said that the event held at Sauraha, which is under the cover of the Rapti river and the green forest of the park, will help to include the environment, conservation and the voice of the world as a whole in literature and other writings. In the program, Prada Jeevlal Sapkota expressed the opinion that the words of the Satyikaar writer should give justice to the interests and issues of every aspect of the world, from humans to micro-animals.
