Dil Bahadur Kunwar's memoir published

A memoir based on the life of MP Dil Bahadur Kunwar (Budhathapa) who got the most votes from Achham and Bajura regions in the first parliamentary election held in 2015 after the end of the Rana regime has been released in the capital.

Congress leader and former minister Dilendra Prasad Badu released the book at a ceremony held on Friday at the Tourism Board at Bhrikutimand. In 2014, he rebelled by grabbing the bridle of the king's horse in the royal procession held in Doti in the far west of King Mahendra to demand the establishment of a port office in Achham. Besides, during the Rana period, the chieftains were expelled from Silgari by blackmail, and the work he did in the fields of justice, education and land reform in that area is famous.

'Pijati was the first chairman of Nepali Congress elected in Acham district in 2014,' his eldest son Bal Bahadur Kunwar said, 'under constituency number 72 in the year 2015, he won from the far western region of Acham and Bajura districts by getting the most votes of 9,605. The most interesting thing was that in that election, Jagdish Shamsher Rana, who participated in the election from Kathmandu in Achham and Bajura region on behalf of the Gorkha Parishad party, which was formed in favor of the king, had to suffer defeat against Dil Bahadur Kunwar.'

A 32-member central working committee was formed under the chairmanship of BP Koirala in the congress held in 2017. Kunwar was elected as a member of the said working committee. Apart from politics, Dil Bahadur Kunwar established Bhasha Pathshala in Achham, the first secondary school in Byalpata.  The family who published the

book said that this work will be very useful for the new generation to study Achham, Bajura, a remote district of the Far West during the Rana period.  57 politicians, relatives, professors, teachers, journalists, family members who were associated with him and have information about him have written articles in the

book. The book was released on the occasion of Dil Bahadur Kunwar's 180th birth anniversary.
