A collection of poems written in Yale's honor is published in New York

Poet Rajan Maharjan's first collection of poems published in English, Ode to Yall, has been published. Maharjan's poetry work published by Nirala Publications, New Delhi was launched at a special literary event in Queens, New York.

In the book containing 23 short and long poems, the poet has shown a deep connection with the beauty, culture and spirit of Janmabhoomi Yal (Patan) - the historic city of Kathmandu Valley. Maharjan has covered the conflict between the life of migration and his original identity in poetry. 

poetry collection was jointly published by poet Yuyutsu Sharma, poet's four-year-old daughter Arlani, wife Asmita and father-in-law Amrit Man Maharjan and mother-in-law Meena Maharjan. In the program, poet Maharjan expressed his happiness for being able to honor his motherland through his poetry. 

Poet Yuyutsu Sharma shed light on the cultural and literary significance of 'Ode to Yal' in the changing scenario of English language writing from Nepal. He said that poet Maharjan's poetic style presented the love and memory of his homeland in vivid pictures, and said, "Maharjan has strengthened his voice as a poet by embracing the duality between migration and identity."
