Kavidanda Suvarna-Tulsi Poetry Award to poet Gopal Parajuli

Poet Gopal Parajuli has received 'Kavidanda Suvarna-Tulsi Kavya Puraskar-2081'. During a program in Kathmandu on Saturday, the award with a cash amount of 50 thousand 160 rupees was given to poet Parajuli.

The award given by the Kavidanda Sahitya Samaj was founded by Sarla Shrestha, a lyricist currently living in America, in the name of her parents, Tulsi Devi and Suvarnajung Shrestha.

President of Kavidanda Sahitya Samaj Chitwan LB Chhetri, actor Madankrishna Shrestha and the awardee Shrestha family honored Srestha Parajuli with dosalla, certificate and cash.

Speaking about the honored author, Mahesh Paudyal, Vice-Professor of Tribhuvan University, said- 'When the Western world was advocating for simplicity by first arguing the death of God and then the death of the writer, poet Parajuli protected the eternal flow of faith and optimism by writing "Another God's Declaration". Similarly, with the end of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States, he wrote "Another World's Proposal" to explain the importance and historical characteristics of the East to Western scholars who believe that history has come to an end." Parajuli won the Madan Award for his poetry collection 'New God's Declaration' published in 2060.

This award, which is going to be given from 2077, was first given to poet Shravan Mukarung, after which Tirtha Shrestha, Manu Manjil and Sarubhakta have received it.
