People from various fields were awarded with the Prime Minister's National Talent Award on Friday.
On the occasion of National Democracy Day 2081, the government had announced to give awards to talented people who have made significant contributions in the fields of peace, good governance, innovation, scientific discovery, research and development. Along with Prime Minister Oli, wife Radhika Shakya and Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh presented the honor.
Awardees are Dr. Chiring Lama (Sindhupalchok) for telemedicine, Dr. Virajsingh Thapa (Morang) for science and technology innovation, record mountaineer Poornima Shrestha (Gorkha), Dr. Abhas Maske (Kathmandu) and Hariram Shrestha (Gorkha) for science technology.
Similarly, Dr. Ommurthy Anil (Mahottari), sports Savitra Bhandari 'Samba' (Lamjung), heritage conservation Rabindra Puri (Bhaktapur), social service Dilshova Shrestha (Kathmandu) and Ramji Adhikari (Gorkha) have been awarded.
The Council of Ministers meeting held on November 17, 2075 decided to establish the award to encourage talented citizens in the field of innovation. It was decided to give a prize of Rs 500,000 to two talents every year. In 2076, for the first time, awards were given to three talents in two categories, but then the awards could not be distributed due to the Corona epidemic. Now the five-year award is given at once. Prime Minister Oli emphasized that the state and society should respect those who do positive work in the society.
