Eastern Nepal's prestigious intellectual fair 'Kala Sahitya Utsav' will be held on February 14th, 15th and 16th at Kakadvitta in Mechinagar.
The festival, which will be held under the leadership of 'Readers Jhapa' in collaboration with the local organization Dehi Art and Parivartan Theatre, this time will focus on the topic of 'Environmental Discussion', the organizer said in a press conference on Saturday. Shailesh Dahal, the president of the organizing organization, said that the festival, which is to be held after 6 years due to the covid epidemic and economic recession, will include scholarly discourse, interaction, painting exhibition, photo exhibition and musical performance. "Environmental issues related to air, water, land, food and life will be the main theme of the festival," he said. At the
festival, Uttambabu Shrestha, a famous scientist and environmentalist of Nepal, will give an opening speech on the topic of 'Environmental crisis and Nepal'. In addition, Sonam Wangchuk, a conservationist in the Ladakh region of India, Deval Deb, a scientist who has studied environmental issues in depth, and Dr. Public Health. Aruna Upreti, agriculturist Krishna Prasad Paudel, geographer Sabin Ninglekhu, storyteller and critic Archana Thapa, film director Meen Bham and musician Jhuma Limbu will be present. According to
program coordinator Sagar Sivakoti, there is a special plan to involve local environmental protection activists, teachers, students, farmers and common citizens in the program.
