Poet, satirist, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Prajna Pratishthan Bimal Niva's new poetry-collection 'Satra Bhoka Kaag' was released on Tuesday during a program in Kathmandu. Writers Nayanraj Pandey, Resham Virhi, Narayan Dhakal, Purushottam Subedi, Amar Giri, Matrika Pokharel, Shardul Bhattarai and Kavi Swayam released the book.
Purushottam Subedi made a critical comment on Bimal's poetry in the program. "Most of Bimal Niva's life was spent as the voice of the people and the people of the land," he said, "Niva is a conscious political poet who writes simple, effective poetry. He has given a new form to Nepali poetry.' Subedi said that Bimal Niva should be given the title of 'Janakavi'. In the
program, Niva recited three poems titled 'Rail', 'Suggestion' and 'Mrityu'. In the poetry collection 'Satra Bhoka Kaag', the storyteller/poet Rajav has written, 'To what extent the poetry is artistically easy, accessible and delicious. Bimal Niva is a rare example of a poet who can be a public supporter.' Kalam' and 'Dinosaur Lives' are published. 'Satra Bhoka Kaag' is published by Red Panda Publications.
