Childlessness problem is increasing worldwide due to modern lifestyle and unbalanced diet. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 17.5 percent of people worldwide are affected by childlessness. On average, one out of every six people will experience infertility in their lifetime.
According to the WHO, if a couple does not conceive despite having regular unprotected sex for 12 consecutive months or more, it is considered to be a problem of infertility. Recently, medical science has developed various techniques to solve this problem.
Although the childless problem is becoming more serious than before, the solution is possible with the use of modern technology. Thousands of couples are achieving child happiness by using IUI and IVF methods. The problem of infertility can be solved if proper treatment method is adopted after consultation with the doctor.
treatment method
In order to identify the problem of childlessness, it is necessary to first find out what the problem is in the couple. In some cases, it can be solved with general medical advice as it is not possible to get pregnant even if the time is not right to have physical contact.
If there is some weakness in the sperm of a man, it is treated by giving medicine for three to six months. In some cases, medication alone can give positive results.
IUI (Intra Uterine Insemination)
If the medicine does not seem to be effective, the IUI method is adopted. In this method, medicine is given to the ovaries to increase egg production from the second day of menstruation to the fifth day. Ovum maturity is checked by regular ultrasound. After the egg matures, the husband's sperm are taken and the healthy sperm are separated in the lab and placed directly in the uterus. The procedure takes five to ten minutes and does not require the woman to be unconscious. If the first attempt fails, it can be repeated four to five times. There is a 10-15 percent chance of having a baby with IUI method.
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization - Test Tube Baby)
If there is no pregnancy after five IUIs, IVF technology is adopted. This method is especially suitable for women with blocked fallopian tubes. In this, a special injection is given from the second day of a woman's period to 10-12 days. After the ovum matures, it is completely prepared by giving another injection and the mature ovum is removed from the ovary under anesthesia.
The egg and sperm are fertilized in the lab by taking the husband's sperm. After three to four days, the embryo is ready and placed in the uterus. This process may take 20 days to two months. Twins or triplets are more likely to be born with IVF because three eggs are fertilized.
