After landslides began to fall from the edge of the settlement, Lumangdin village in Phalelung–5 of Panchthar is now at risk. According to Ward Chair Bharat Khapangi, four households were displaced on Sunday after the landslide damaged their homes, and an additional 35 houses are at risk.
Khapangi said that as the landslide, which began on Sunday morning, continued unabated until evening, the entire village is now at risk.

Because the landslide is affecting the village from the edge of the settlement, 168 people from 35 households are currently at high risk. In addition to the ongoing landslide at the edge of the settlement, cracks have appeared in most of the land, putting more houses at risk.
Locals say the risk remains as it continued to rain until Sunday evening. Ward Chair Khapangi said that the four families whose houses were destroyed have been relocated to nearby relatives, and as the number of displaced people is expected to increase, preparations are being made to arrange temporary shelter at the nearby Siddha Basic School.
Chief District Officer Basudev Dahal has confirmed that, due to the Phalelung landslide, four families have been displaced and more houses are at risk. He said that there is currently no communication contact in the landslide-affected area.
Previously, due to landslides, eight families in Phalelung–2 and one family in Phalelung–3 had been displaced.
