A landslide caused by rain has disrupted rural roads, electricity and internet services in Furumbu, Phungling Municipality-10.

A landslide occurred in the Othekhola area of Furumbu due to rain on Friday night, Ward Chairman Santosh Limbu informed.

The landslide from above the road has blocked the road connecting Suketar to Handewa, Furumbu via Linkhim. Ward Chairman Limbu said that traffic has been disrupted since Saturday morning after the road connecting Baisakhe via Aathe, Nibare, Karki Chowk was blocked.

The landslide has also brought down an electricity pole, which has also disrupted the internet service that was being extended on the same pole. Limbu informed that the fallen tree due to the landslide has damaged electricity poles, transmission lines and internet wires. Power service has been disrupted in the Furumbu area since Friday night.

All electrical facilities have been shut down after the power outage. Ward Chairman Limbu says efforts are being made to restore power, but it will take time. He said that an excavator or JCV machine is needed to open the road and regularize electricity service. 'The villagers do the labor, but since it is not possible to do it by people alone, machines are needed,' he said.
