A meeting of the provincial-level mechanism held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Congress provincial president and parliamentary party leader Uddhav Thapa was preparing to take a decision on the recall of ministers from the government. However, the decision was postponed after the directive came from the center during the meeting.
The meeting has given the responsibility to Thapa and provincial MP Amrit Aryal, who is also a central member, to further consult with the central leadership. Thapa said that the meeting will be held again after a formal decision from the center and necessary decisions will be taken.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Thapa said that the cooperation with the UML has ended politically.
'The cooperation with the UML has ended. Now we are discussing three options,' he said, 'The options are to try to maintain cooperation with the UML, cooperate with the NCP or stay in the opposition.'
According to Thapa, the final decision on the ministers participating in the government will be taken only after consultation with the center leaders.
Deputy Leader of the Parliamentary Party Himal Karki, Chief Whip Gopal Tamang, Joint General Secretary Umesh Thapa, Provincial MPs Amrit Aryal, Gayananda Mandal, Maiya Shrestha and others participated in the meeting.
Currently, the provincial government led by Hikmat Kumar Karki includes Infrastructure Development Minister Pradeep Kumar Sunuwar, Health Minister Man Bahadur Limbu, Tourism, Forest and Environment Minister Bhim Parajuli, Industry, Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Israel Mansuri and Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure Shobha Chemjong from the Nepali Congress.
