Due to continuous rainfall, a landslide has blocked the road from the Panchthar district headquarters Fidim to Samdin, Chokmagu, and Nawmidanda via Siwa.
The District Police Office Panchthar has stated that the road section was blocked by a landslide that occurred above the road at a place called Lakhumadhara in Siwa, Fidim Municipality-6, at around 6:30 pm on Friday evening.
According to the police, rocks and soil have accumulated on the road. Although an excavator was sought to clear the landslide, Panchthar Police Chief (DSP) Anish Karn informed that it was not immediately possible due to nightfall and ongoing rain.
Panchthar has been experiencing continuous rainfall for the past three days. As a result, transportation has become difficult due to road blockages in various places.
