The police stated that the recovered materials have provided important grounds for further investigation into the possible network of active middlemen in the hospital, the collection of patients’ personal details, and possible coordination with private hospitals. Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka, information officer at the District Police Office Sunsari, said that further investigation is ongoing against all those arrested from the Area Police Office Dharan.
He urged patients and their relatives coming for treatment not to fall for any middleman’s enticement and to immediately inform the police if they notice any suspicious activity. Following information that attempts were being made to influence patients and their relatives by offering medicines at low prices from private medical shops, the police had increased surveillance.
