The Koshi Provincial Government is set to receive the suspended salary of Rs 2.5 crore for the personal secretaries of the provincial assembly members. The salary, which has been suspended since last Asoj, will be provided from the date of suspension.
The Cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to pay the salary of the personal secretaries regularly from the date of suspension, said Minister for Water Supply and Energy Tilchan Pathak.
The personal secretaries of 92 Koshi MPs will receive more than Rs 2.5 crore for about 9 months. After the Gen-G movement, NCP MP Khinu Langwa removed her personal salary. 92 MPs kept it as is.
Most MPs have kept family members in their personal salaries. Some MPs have also been receiving their own salaries.
The salaries of personal secretaries were stopped after the Gen-G movement in Koshi Province.
The cabinet meeting has also decided to appoint Anil Thapa of Barahakshetra Municipality-2, Sunsari, to the vacant post of member of the Provincial Planning Commission.
Similarly, approval has been given to submit the bill to replace the Provincial Sports First Amendment Ordinance, 2083 to the Provincial Assembly. The meeting has also approved the bill to amend the Provincial Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2078.
