Due to incessant rains during the night, traffic has been disrupted in the Panchthar section of the Mid-Hill Highway and the Phidim-Falot road section of Panchthar.
The traffic has been stopped after the flood in the Mewa River at Yangwarak-2 along the Mid-Hill Highway damaged the diversion.
A diversion was constructed on the Mewa River along this road just a few days ago.
Police have stated that due to the road blockage, traffic has been blocked from the Phalaincha and Chyangthapu areas of Panchthar as well as the Sadeva and Kalikhola areas of Taplejung to the district headquarters.
Similarly, due to incessant rains, the Muwakhola diversion on the Phidim-Falot road section has been damaged, disrupting traffic in that area.
The flood washed away the foundation of the diversion built on the Muwakhola on the border of Falelung-5 and 6. Amarbir Rai, Ward Chairman of Falelung-6, informed that traffic was disrupted after the diversion was washed away.
