Due to incessant rains since Tuesday night, about 120 meters of the road has been flooded on the Chichila-Num road section under construction under the Koshi Highway in the Summabhir area of Chichila Rural Municipality-4 of Sankhuwasabha.
Vehicles are operating on a one-way basis on the road. Police have stated that necessary initiatives are being taken to repair the road and prevent further damage in coordination with the construction company Sharma-Shivashakti JV and the local level.
The police have requested passengers and drivers using the road to exercise special caution as the risk of landslides and road collapses in the hilly areas has increased due to continuous rains. A three-member police team under the command of Police Assistant Inspector Birendra Rajbanshi from Police Post Chichila, Sankhuwasabha was deployed to the scene.
Police have stated that further details about the incident are awaited.
