In order to balance the negative population, a ward of Phidim Municipality has announced a program to encourage couples to have more than two children.

In the policy and program presented at the 19th municipal assembly of the municipality, Ward No. 2 of Phidim has allocated Rs 180,000 as an allowance to couples who have more than two children as an incentive.

Ward Chairman Dinanath Adhikari said that couples who have already had two children will also receive the incentive allowance after giving birth to a new child within the fiscal year 2083/84 and registering the birth at the ward office. The officer said that such a policy has been brought to manage the declining population.

Meanwhile, Phidim Municipality has presented a budget of Rs 1.48 billion 500,000 for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. The budget of this municipality for the current fiscal year was Rs 1.10 billion 5133,201. This year, the budget has decreased by about Rs 100 million compared to last year.
