One person died in a school bus carrying pilgrims accident on the Madan Bhandari highway in Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-7, Adheri on Saturday morning. 30 people were injured. According to the police, the bus (Ba2Kha 6468) of Deep English Academy Boarding School, Gaushala-2 Mahottari, which was heading towards Chatara Dham from Bardibas, lost control and met with an accident at around 9:30 am.

Bimlesh Dutta, 55, a resident of Bardibas Municipality, Mahottari, died in the accident. Police said that he died during treatment after being seriously injured.

Among the injured, 12-year-old Sandesh Kumar Chaudhary and 38-year-old Rasila Kumari Chaudhary are in serious condition. They have been referred to the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar for further treatment.

Bus driver Jeevan Ale Magar, 29, and other passengers have sustained minor injuries. The passengers involved in the accident were on their way to Chatara Dham during a religious pilgrimage. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined and an investigation into the incident is underway, according to the District Police Office, Udayapur.
