Two accused in the kidnapping and murder incident that took place in Surunga Municipality-9 of Saptari 11 years ago were arrested on Tuesday after 11 years. According to the police, 69-year-old Daud Miyan of Surunga and 60-year-old Nasir alias Bashir Miyan of Lahan Municipality-19 of Siraha have been arrested on charges of kidnapping and murder.
It is alleged that they kidnapped local Ainul Miyan, who was living at home on 29 Bhadra 2072, and drowned her in the Paini river east of Balan Khola. After the incident, the deceased Miyan's daughter-in-law Roshan Khatun filed a police complaint. However, both the accused had been living in hiding. Both were arrested during the search, according to DSP Hemraj Ghimire, spokesperson of the District Police Office.
Daud was arrested from his home and Bashir from Balan Bihul Rural Municipality-1, DSP Ghimire informed. According to him, the Saptari District Court has extended the remand of Dawood and Bashir for further investigation.
