Chandra Rai of Morang has been elected as the President of the Koshi Province of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He defeated his nearest rival Sarin Tamang in the election held on Thursday and took the leadership.
A total of 702 votes were cast in the election. Rai received 280 votes. Among the competitors, Sarin Tamang received 141 votes, Chandra Kumar Gauli 27 votes, and Khagendra Katuwal 41 votes.
After the defeat in the election, Sarin Tamang has announced her retirement from politics. She responded on social media, writing, 'I will leave politics from today. I express my heartfelt gratitude to all my friends who voted.'
