Nepal Telecom's 4G service has been disrupted since Friday in Kimathanka, Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha, which borders China. Local residents are facing communication problems after the service was disrupted.
According to Ward Chairperson Nurpu Chhyawa, the telecom's 4G service has suddenly been suspended throughout the area. He said that the concerned office was informed as soon as the problem was noticed and the service was requested to be resumed as soon as possible.
He said that after the 4G service was suspended, local residents are facing difficulties in contacting relatives, accessing online services and exchanging daily information.
Kimathanka, located on the Nepal-China border, is considered an important area from a strategic and commercial perspective. Not only locals but also general public and businessmen traveling to the border area have been affected due to the disruption of communication services here.
Locals have expressed concern that the technical problem will be delayed as it takes about three days of walking and driving to reach Kimathanka from the district headquarters, Khandbari. Locals have demanded that the suspended communication service be restored as soon as possible .
