As the problem of landslides and land subsidence following continuous rains increases, two families from Seduwa, Makalu Rural Municipality-2, Sankhuwasabha have been displaced.

The family of Nar Bahadur Chauhan and Krishna Bahadur Ghimire have been shifted to a safer place after the landslide reached their yard.

According to locals, the three-story zinc-roofed house is at high risk after a landslide started falling from the bank in front of the house. The ground around the house has started cracking and the possibility of further landslides has increased, making both families unable to live in their own homes. Police have said that they are currently taking temporary shelter in a neighbor's house.

Locals have said that the landslide has put not only their homes but also the surrounding settlements at risk. Locals are panicking as the risk of landslides may increase with the onset of the rainy season. The affected families have urged the concerned bodies to take necessary steps for immediate relief, safe housing management and risk reduction.

Local people's representatives are also monitoring the incident site and collecting information about the situation in the affected areas. Due to the adverse weather conditions, additional vigilance has been exercised and citizens living in risk areas have been urged to take necessary precautions.
