A dry landslide on the Koshi Highway in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4, Sirek, has completely blocked the road. On Friday afternoon, a landslide with large stones, mud and gravel fell from the upper part of the highway, bringing traffic to a standstill on the Khandbari-Kimathanka road section.
According to the police, about 10 to 15 meters of the road has been buried due to the landslide. Vehicles and passengers traveling in the area have been affected by the sudden fall of stones and mud from above.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kumar Pramad Mainali of the District Police Office, a police team was deployed to the scene as soon as information about the landslide was received. He said that efforts are being made to open the road by coordinating with the police, local levels and concerned bodies.

According to Ram Bahadur Gurung, head of the North-South Koshi Road Project, dry landslides have been increasing in the steep areas around the road recently. He said that passengers and drivers have been urged to be cautious as there is a risk of falling rocks and stones on the road.
It is said that preparations are being made to remove the landslide by mobilizing the necessary equipment in coordination with the planning office and the local level.
