The details of the damage caused by the floods and landslides that occurred in Yangwarak Rural Municipality of Panchthar on the evening of 20th Jestha have started to be collected. According to the data collected till the time of preparing this news (10 am on Sunday), the floods have damaged four hydropower projects operating in the Yangwarak area, affecting production.

Similarly, the Arun Kabeli Hydropower Project located in Kabeli Khola has also been damaged, affecting electricity production, informed Anish Kumar Karna, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Panchthar.
The floods have washed away the structure of the Limbuni Bridge under construction under the Tamor Corridor. Tej Kumar Kurumwang, the operator of Yakthunghang Construction Services Pvt. Ltd., said that the flood washed away 350 tons of steel trusts, oxygen gas cylinders, electric guns and iron pipes, which were brought for the construction of the bridge under construction on the Tamor River on the border of Hilihang in Panchthar and Aathrai Triveni rural municipalities in Taplejung.

Four families displaced, 15 houses at risk
Four families have been displaced in Yangwarak Rural Municipality-1 due to a landslide. The houses of Mohanlal Khawas and Kabir Khawas of Lambakhola and Ganga Prasad Begha of Kopche were swept away by the landslide. Seven relatives of Mohanlal and Kabir's family are taking shelter at Shanta Khawas's house, while Ganga Prasad's family of six is staying at the house of his brother Durga Begha, according to the police.
Six members of Bhagiman Begha's family in the same place have been shifted to a safe place after the house was at high risk.
The houses of Balananda Begha and Maitraj Begha of Kopchetol, Rabin Rai, Ram Kumar Rai, Ran Bahadur Rai, Man Kumari Gurung and Dambar Bahadur Gurung of Chamlingdada, Ratnaman Rai, Lachuman Rai, Rajesh Rai, Kamal Bahadur Rai and Sher Bahadur Rai of Ekrate Tole, and Yam Magar, Purna Kumar Magar and Sujan Magar of Magardanda Tole are at risk due to the flood and landslide, according to the District Police Office of Panchthar.
Similarly, in Yangbarak-4, Sigewa, the cardamom orchard of locals Lal Bahadur Mabo, Laxman Mabo, Yogendra Mabo and Chhabilal Pokharel has been damaged along with the cultivable land.
The flood and landslide have also damaged the Tikarame, Dalledhunga and Sigewa drinking water schemes, Barang irrigation scheme and Mechi Pahadi drinking water scheme. The process of collecting details of the damage is ongoing and an assessment is yet to be made, according to the Panchthar Police.
