Sumitra Nemwang, a teacher at Lungrupa Academy Boarding School in Phidim Municipality-14 of Panchthar, brutally beat 5-year-old Sesefung Nemwang, a student in LKG.

Sesefung fell ill after the teacher beat him. He developed a fever and showed no interest in food. When asked about it, he said, "Miss, you beat me." When she took off her clothes, she saw bruises all over his body,' said Savitra.
After telling her husband Mahendra Nemwang, who is in Korea, about the beating, he called Ward Chairman Rajkumar Nemwang and informed him.
As soon as he received information about the incident, he himself asked the school administrator to take the child to the hospital after the child's condition was found to be pathetic, said Ward Chairman Nembang.
Three days after the incident, the child was admitted to the Ganeshman Singh Community Hospital in Phidim for treatment.
School administrator Sanyog Saru Magar said that the teacher who beat the child has been suspended and that the school administration will bear the treatment expenses.
The back of the child, who was beaten by the teacher and filled with pus, is now being shared by social media users. There are demands to take legal action against the school administration and the teacher.
