Power supply has been disrupted in Taplejung due to a cyclone on Monday evening. A tree fell and a pole was broken in the Amarpur area of Hilihang Rural Municipality in Panchthar.
According to Umesh Shrestha, Chief of the Taplejung Electricity Office, two teams have been mobilized for repairs. Shrestha said, 'One team is removing the broken pole and making a burial site, while the other is transporting the pole.'
According to locals, two poles have fallen and one has completely collapsed. The cyclone had also blocked the road from Kabeli to Amarpur. The Panchthar Amarpur Area Police Office said that the police, passengers and locals removed the obstruction on Monday night.
According to Hilihang Rural Municipality, the crops planted by farmers have also been damaged.
