Strict checks have been made on vehicles in the district to prevent the introduction of bird flu. If prohibited materials are imported, they will be seized and destroyed and the concerned person will be taken into custody, the administration office has stated.

A complete ban has been imposed on bringing birds and bird-related items from the Terai districts infected with bird flu into the district.

After precautions were taken after bird flu was seen in Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari, the Animal Services and Veterinary Office has stated that there has been no bird flu-related infection in Taplejung. On Saturday, samples were collected from 19 farms and meat shops in the district headquarters and screened. Roshan Dahal, head of the Veterinary Hospital, informed that no type of virus was found in the tests.

According to Dahal, the collected samples were tested for avian influenza virus antigen. Dahal said that no virus was detected during the test. Dahal said that no further tests were needed as no virus was detected in the screening test.
