One person died and another was seriously injured when a truck and a motorcycle collided in Barkhedanda, Chaudandigadhi Municipality-4, Udayapur. The motorcycle driver, Gajurman Rai, 40, of Lamidanda, Belka Municipality-6, died in the accident, said District Police Office Udayapur Chief SP Rajan Chapagain.
Gajurman, who was injured in the accident, was sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan (Ghopa), where he died during treatment. Gajurman's sister, Shanti Rai, 35, who was sitting behind the motorcycle, was seriously injured.
A truck with registration number PR 3-01-006 Kha 0375 from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and a motorcycle with registration number PR 1-05-002 Pa 1600 coming from Rampur to Beltar collided with each other on Friday morning. The truck driver has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway, according to the police.

On Friday afternoon, a motorcycle (number Pr.1-05-001 Pa 5738) heading from Fatehpur to Santhiya hit a bicycle heading in the same direction, seriously injuring the cyclist. He was taken to Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar for treatment, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival at the hospital, police said.
