The MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Bikram Prasad Shrestha, and the Executive Director of the Tilganga Eye Institute, Prof. Dr. Sanduk Ruit, at a program organized in Kathmandu.

The agreement was signed to expand mutual cooperation between the two institutions through teacher and student exchange, joint eye health camps and surgical camps, expansion of specialist services, continuous medical education training, and joint research programs in the field of eye care, said the spokesperson of the institute, Prof. Dr. Shamsher Shrestha. Shrestha said that the agreement is expected to help expand quality eye care services in eastern Nepal.

The institute has taken this collaboration as an important step under its long-term policy of improving the quality of services, education, and research by collaborating with national and international health institutions. It is expected that both institutions and the general public will receive quality eye care services from this agreement.
