A child has died and two others have been injured in an accident in Udayapur after a city safari went out of control.
Suraj Magrati, 4, of Rautamai Rural Municipality-7 Murkuchi, died when the safari was coming from Nepaltar to Gaighat on the Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-Jogitol downhill road under the Madan Bhandari Highway.
The city driver, Jayaram Chaudhary, 34, of Triyuga Municipality-3 Bhulke, and the deceased Suraj's father, Deepak Magrati, were injured in the accident, said SP Rajan Chapagain, Chief of the District Police Office, Udayapur.
According to him, Suraj, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to the District Hospital, Udayapur for treatment and was taken to Nobel Hospital, Biratnagar after treatment was not possible there. Police said that the doctor declared Suraj dead upon reaching the hospital. Police said that the legal process for the post-mortem of the deceased child's body is being completed. Two other injured persons are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Udayapur.
The police have taken the City Safari vehicle (registration number Koshi Pradesh 05-001 H 0685) involved in the accident under control.
