Since it is difficult to adjust prices under the current legal system, it has also been urged to immediately issue the 'Price Adjustment Guide-2' and to make arrangements for price adjustment in construction projects of all periods.

The Nepal Construction Entrepreneurs Association Sankhuwasabha has drawn the attention of the government, saying that the construction industry across the country is in serious crisis due to the continuously increasing prices of fuel and construction materials.
In a statement issued by the association's general secretary Sunil Shrestha on Sunday, it was stated that the industry itself has reached a point of collapse due to the unnatural increase and shortage in the prices of essential construction materials such as diesel, petrol, bitumen, rod and cement. The association said that the construction sector, which has been providing direct employment to about 2 to 2.5 million people in the country, has been directly affected by this situation.
Although the Nepal Construction Entrepreneurs Federation, the umbrella organization of construction entrepreneurs, has repeatedly drawn the attention of the Nepal government and the concerned bodies, no concrete initiative has been taken so far.
The statement particularly expresses dissatisfaction with the price adjustment system. Although there is a system for adjusting the prices of construction work based on the Nepal Rastra Bank's price index, it is said that the entrepreneurs have been further affected by the trend of seeing the index decrease even when the prices of materials in the market increase excessively.
Even though construction work is currently in full swing, the association has stated that the shortage of materials and price hikes have put a huge financial burden on businessmen.
In such a critical situation, the association has demanded that the government declare a 'state of emergency' for the construction sector and provide relief to businessmen. In addition, as it is difficult to adjust prices under the current legal system, it has also been urged to immediately issue 'Price Adjustment Guide-2' and make arrangements for price adjustment in construction projects of all periods.
