The atmosphere has become beautiful after the onset of Chaitra, when snow, which had not fallen throughout the winter, began to fall repeatedly. The continuous snowfall has also increased the number of tourists.

The Timbung Pokhari area on the border of Taplejung and Panchthar is covered with snow. The snow that has not fallen all winter has fallen repeatedly since Chaitra, making the environment here very beautiful. The continuous snowfall has also increased the number of tourists here.
The main season to visit this area, located at an altitude of 4,380 meters above sea level, is from Jestha to Kartik. However, locals say that tourists are still arriving here even during the 'off season' this year.
Amir Rai, a tourism entrepreneur here, informed that there is continuous snow in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Panchthar and Taplejung, including Timbung Pokhari. He said that tourists from as far as Kathmandu and Pokhara have arrived here this week alone to see and play in the snow.
According to him, tourists have started arriving in this area even during the 'off season' recently. ‘The main season to visit here is from Jestha to Kartik, earlier there were zero tourists here during the off-season, but in recent years they have started coming even during the off-season,’ he said. Rai said that tourists come to see the picturesque environment, the snow-capped mountains and the Gurans forest on the way and to enjoy the natural beauty here. This year alone, there are statistics that more than 5,000 tourists have arrived here via Taplejung. Tourists who travel through Pachathar and Taplejung to reach the Timbung Pokhari area have to walk for at least 2 days from places where vehicles can reach.
Domestic and foreign tourists come to this area from various places in Nepal, as well as from West Bengal and Sikkim in India. The herbs and daphne found in this area attract the attention of tourists.
Like Timbung Pokhari, Sandakpur on the Ilam-Panchthar border, as well as the Nepal-India border areas of Falout, Charrate and Chiwa Bhanjyang, has also seen frequent snowfall since the beginning of Chaitra. ‘Snow that has not fallen all winter has been seen since the beginning of Chaitra, it has been falling not once but repeatedly, I have not had to leave my jacket until the summer season,’ said Shyam Limbu of Falelung-4.
