It has been found that institutional (private) schools operating in the Itahari sub-metropolitan area have arbitrarily increased fees for the new academic session 2083. The sub-metropolitan city has shown interest after complaints from parents that the monthly fees have been increased by 10 to 25 percent. According to a letter issued by the Education, Youth and Sports Division of the sub-metropolitan city, it has been mentioned that some institutional schools have been charging additional fees under various headings in the student admission process, putting a financial burden on parents, forcing them to purchase stationery in the name of the school, and increasing unnecessary expenses by changing the textbook distribution system. The sub-metropolitan city has instructed the schools concerned to immediately stop such activities. It has also been warned that if such actions are repeated in the future, strict action will be taken according to the prevailing law.

Ramesh Kumar Shah, Head of the Education Division of the Sub-metropolitan City, has urged all institutional schools to follow the rules and not to impose unnecessary financial burden on parents.

Parents are worried due to the increase in fees. Families dependent on daily income are complaining that the increase in school fees is causing additional problems at a time when inflation is rising.

Parents have demanded that the local government monitor fees effectively and control them. Itahari Sub-metropolitan City has said that it will now tighten monitoring in this regard and will be active in ensuring transparency and compliance with rules in the education sector.
