Siraha Municipality Mayor Navin Kumar Yadav has beaten up an employee. Ram Sharan Yadav, 50, an office assistant working in the municipality office, was beaten up by the mayor.
Ram Sharan said that while he was turning in the register to attend the accounting department at 9 am today, Mayor Yadav suddenly came and abused him, kicked and punched him. He has been working in the municipality's health department for 24 years.
A permanent resident of Sukchena, Siraha Municipality-15, his post is at the health post in Lagadi Gadiyani, Siraha Municipality-20. The victim's office assistant said that despite the municipality having a way to send employees anywhere after completing the legal process, he was beaten up and asked to go to the place where he was posted.
'They have the right to transfer our employees, if I had been officially transferred and I had refused, it would have been one thing,' he said, 'but, when I was about to report, they suddenly came today and started beating me up, telling me to go to the place where I was posted.'
He is currently undergoing treatment at the provincial hospital in Siraha. Meanwhile, Mayor Yadav has claimed that he was wrong to beat the employee. Mayor Yadav claims that when he stopped him from reporting, he himself started crying and shouting.
'I did not beat him up, when the employee of the job tried to stop him from reporting, he himself started crying and shouting,' he said, 'The police whom I called to say that he should be detained took him to the hospital, this is all a gimmick.'
