The Everest Dudhkoshi Cultural Trek in Lower Solu has started attracting tourists. The virgin trek, jointly promoted by the local government of Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality and TAAN, has become a favorite of foreign tourists in its first year. Last year and this season alone, more than a dozen groups from different countries have visited.
Last year alone, the Trekking Agency Association of Nepal (TAAN) launched a promotional tour on the trek built by the rural municipality and has now been visited and observed by more than a dozen groups from countries including the US, Germany, and India. This trek, which stretches from 941 meters above sea level at the source of the Dudhkoshi River to the view point of Arandanda at 3,310 meters, is suitable for all age groups and seasons, said Municipality Chairman Buddhikiran Rai.
This trekking route, which allows visitors to view more than a dozen snow-capped peaks, including the highest peak, Mount Everest, from close range, is a wonderful combination of nature and culture, says Amrit Rai, director of Alpine Trekking Company.

The main observation centers are Siliguri Danda, Ratanange Danda, Kudam Danfe Bhir, Jordhunga, Jaleshwari Temple, Solaban, Dhaje Danda and Aran Danda, said Amit Rai, spokesperson of the municipality. The trekking route will include Solududhkunda Municipality, Khumbupasanglhamu Rural Municipality, and Thulungdudhkoshi Rural Municipality, according to Ward No. 1 Chairman Sajjan Rai.
German tourist Karina Behl said that she was attracted by nature and culture during the 6-day trek. Municipality Chairman Buddhikiran Rai said that home stays are operating on the trekking route and that locals have also benefited directly in terms of income generation and employment. According to him, plans have also been taken forward to build additional tourist infrastructure on this trekking route.
