On the second day of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE), 975 candidates were absent in the compulsory Nepali subject examination in Koshi Province. This number is 235 less than the previous day.
The highest number of candidates was absent in Morang with 173 candidates, while the lowest number was absent in Solukhumbu with 10 candidates, according to the Education Development Directorate, Dhankuta. Similarly, 52 candidates were absent in Taplejung, 58 in Panchthar, 44 in Ilam and 148 in Jhapa. Similarly, 66 candidates were absent in Sankhuwasabha, 25 in Tehrathum, 44 in Dhankuta, 61 in Bhojpur, 137 in Sunsari, 53 in Khotang, 29 in Okhaldhunga and 75 in Udayapur.
In this year's SEE in Koshi Province, 80,910 candidates filled the form. There are 3,158 examinees in the technical stream. Of which, 975 examinees were absent, Education Development Director Krishna Prasad Pokharel said. On the first day, 1,210 examinees were absent in the compulsory English subject.
332 examination centers have been set up for the examination. There are 332 center heads and 546 assistant center heads across the province. 7,369 people, including 4,063 invigilators and 813 examination assistants, have been deployed. A total of 12,349 manpower has been mobilized to conduct the examination.
Meanwhile, the work of checking the answer sheets of the compulsory Nepali subject on the second day has started from noon. The Directorate of Education Development has stated that the work of checking the answer sheets is ongoing at the concerned examination centers. The Directorate has stated that the work of checking the first day has been completed.
