One person died when a pickup truck went out of control and crashed on the Gurase-Subhang inner dirt road section in Bancharedanda, Hilihang Rural Municipality-5. Two more were injured.

After the accident, a team deployed from Police Post Jorpokhari under the command of Police Inspector Gyanendra Subedi rescued all three injured and sent them to District Hospital Panchthar. The hospital said that 24-year-old Awas Mabo of Subhang, Hilihang-5, died during treatment.
The passenger in the vehicle, 24-year-old Sandeep Ubarkoti of the same place, is in a normal condition and is undergoing treatment. The driver, 25-year-old Krishna Bahadur Baraili of Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-6, Jhapa, also suffered minor injuries. He has been taken into custody by the police. Police said further investigation into the accident is underway.
