Textbooks for grades 1 to 5 of community schools have arrived in the district headquarters of Phungling.  The Federation of Book and Stationery Entrepreneurs has stated that it will also start selling and distributing them from Tuesday.

The Federation of Book and Stationery Entrepreneurs, Taplejung, has been jointly selling textbooks for most of the community schools here. According to Chairman Keshav Prasad Bhattarai, textbooks for grades 1-5 have been brought to the district headquarters at the rate of 1,000 sets. Bhattarai informed that textbooks for grades 6-10 will also arrive within a day or two. The school itself will have to transport them from the district headquarters to the school.

Bhattarai said that the books were brought on time as it would take four to five days to reach the school due to geographical reasons. Bhattarai says that they will start selling them from this time every year.

The price of a set for class 1 has been fixed at 420 rupees, for class 2 at 556, for class 3 at 580, for class 4 at 602 and for class 5 at 633 rupees. In addition, each set costs 80 paisa.

Since a decade ago, book and stationery traders here have been jointly selling community school textbooks.
