Farmers affected by monkeys demonstrated in the district headquarters of Diktel on Monday. They demonstrated with agricultural tools, demanding a solution to the damage caused by monkeys to agricultural products.

They demonstrated with agricultural tools including plows, hoe, tines, and spades from the Senior Citizens' Office in Hulakadanda, Diktel. The farmers also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through Chief District Officer Rekha Kandel. They submitted the memorandum demanding control, saying that the monkey terror has led to starvation.

Local Durga Prasad Ghimire said that they were forced to take up the protest because the monkeys have destroyed crops and drains, including fruits, vegetables, and food grains, leaving the cultivable land barren and forcing them to migrate.

Ghimire said that they have also drawn attention to the proper implementation of agricultural sector programs such as subsidies, irrigation, and tools and equipment distributed by the government.
