Satish Satyal, the head of the Transport Management Office (Driving License) in Itahari, Sunsari, has been pulled over by the ministry.

He has been pulled over by the ministry on charges of allowing those who failed the health test for driving licenses to pass.

The ministry has stated that Satyal was pulled over by the ministry after it was found that those who failed the health test were passed during a random monitoring conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law.

He is accused of taking money from service recipients to pass the health test that is mandatory when obtaining or renewing a driving license. After receiving written and verbal complaints in this regard, a random monitoring was conducted at the Transport Management Office License Koshi under the leadership of the Ministry's Secretary Asman Tamang.

Satyal was pulled over by the ministry after irregularities were confirmed during the monitoring, said Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Indramani Parajuli.

The monitoring team has also sealed the office of the head of the office, Satyal. Minister Parajuli said, 'We had repeatedly warned them verbally. When the situation did not improve even after being warned, we had to conduct sporadic monitoring.'

After complaints of financial benefits being taken in the name of health checks at transport management offices increased, the ministry had made arrangements to appoint doctors on its own since last Shrawan. The ministry has stated that doctors have been assigned to the transport offices in three districts of the Terai of Koshi Province by creating temporary posts.

According to the ministry, two specialist doctors have been appointed to the Transport Management Office in Birtamod, Jhapa, two in Itahari, and one in Biratnagar. Arrangements have been made for these doctors to provide the necessary health reports while obtaining and renewing driving licenses.

Meanwhile, office chief Satyal has claimed that the allegations against him are baseless. He said that he has been trying to improve the long-standing health check-up problem at the transport office and said that he writes 'rechecks' so that service recipients do not feel uncomfortable, and the allegations are based on that matter. The ministry has stated that further study is being conducted into the incident.
