The fire that broke out at the Purbanchal Bakery Cafe on Dharan Line in Itahari, Sunsari, has been brought under control.
The fire, which started at around 10 am in the kitchen of the cafe on Dharan Road, was brought under control after about an hour with the help of security personnel, locals and fire engines from neighboring municipalities.
According to the police, the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been made public. Fire engines from Dharan, Inaruwa and Ramdhuni municipalities were used to control the fire.
Meanwhile, both fire engines from Itahari Sub-metropolitan City were destroyed in arson during the Gen-G movement, and there is now a shortage of fire engines in the city. Locals are dissatisfied that the fire engine management has not been done even after the movement.
