The 18th edition of the Ram Navami Cup Volleyball Tournament, which is held every year on the occasion of Ram Navami festival in Hille, Dhankuta, is being held from Tuesday. Municipalities from all over Koshi Province are participating in the tournament. The winning team of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 22,222. Similarly, the runner-up will receive a cash prize of Rs 11,111, informed club president Sanjeev Tamang. The organizer Hille Volleyball Club has stated that all preparations including playground management, players, referees have been completed. Nine different local levels of Koshi Province are participating in the tournament.
Teams from Pakhribas Municipality and Mahalakshmi Municipality of Dhankuta, Aamchowk, Arun, Ram Prasad Rai, Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality and Shadananda Municipality of Bhojpur, Sabhapokhari Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha and Kankai Municipality of Jhapa will participate, informed Tamang, chairman of the organizing committee.
All participating teams in the competition will be given Rs 10,000. Each team that reaches the semi-finals will also be awarded Rs 15,000. The organizers have also provided cash and medals for category awards. The competition will run until the 13th.
The competition is being organized with the support of various organizations and individuals, including Dhankuta Municipality, Ward Office. The volleyball competition has been held in Hilebazar since 2055 BS.
