Sakela Rural Municipality has been without electricity for 4 days. The storm on Chaitra 20 damaged the main electricity line and forced people to live in darkness.
The storm damaged the main and branch lines from Baghedhunga Shava Station in Lichkiramche to Sakela Rural Municipality, leaving 2,318 households in darkness, said DM Chamling, head of the Information Technology Branch of Sakela Rural Municipality. Ram Kumar Shrestha, technical chief of the Nepal Electricity Authority Diktel Distribution Center, said that electricity is being repaired in the municipality. ‘Work is being done in a hurry,’ Shrestha said, ‘it took time because of the extensive damage.’
