Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality has been without electricity for 3 days. The wind and storm on Chaitra 2 damaged the power line.

According to Bhupendra Basnet, spokesperson of Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality and ward chair of Rural Municipality-3 Chorambu, around 3,100 households in Ward No. 1 Yamkha, 2 Dadangaun, 3 Chorambu, 4 Batase, 5 Sapteshwor Chhitapokhari, 6 Chhitapokhari and 7 Tema have been forced to live in the dark.

Basnet said that the wind has also damaged the main power line from Regmitar to Diprung Chuichumma and the branch lines within the rural municipality. The trees fell in various places in the area and snapped the wires, so repairs are underway, and the plan is to restore power by Thursday, said Ram Kumar Shrestha, technical chief of the Nepal Electricity Authority Diktel Distribution Center.
