Students have also demonstrated in Taplejung, stating that the rape and murder of Inisha Bik of Surkhet has drawn their attention. Students of Pathibhara Multiple Campus demonstrated in Phungling on Monday and raised awareness. Pathibhara Multiple Campus Board of Directors Chairwoman Shila Ijam said that there is a need to rise up in an organized manner to raise awareness for justice for the victims. Campus Board of Directors officials, Independent Students Union officials and members, student organization leaders and students had paraded around the city raising slogans such as ‘Beware of those with bad thoughts, give justice to Inisha’. The demonstration that started from Tokmedanda reached Birendra Chowk and turned into a corner meeting. After the corner meeting, the students again demonstrated in all parts of the market and reached Tokmedanda again. The corner meeting of Tokmedanda was addressed by Swabiyu President Til Bahadur Jogi, Secretary Laxman Poudel and others. 16-year-old Inisha Bik, a resident of Gurbhakot Municipality-6 in Surkhet and studying in grade 11 at Usha Balbatika School in Birendranagar, was found unconscious in the Janajagaran Community Forest in Birendranagar-4 on Falgun 23. Her relatives took her to the Provincial Hospital in Kalagaun for treatment, but the hospital declared her dead.
