According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kedarman Dong, Chief of Area Police Office Katari, 64-year-old Birendra Chaudhary died. The injured include his granddaughter, Andaji 5-year-old Binisha Chaudhary, 27-year-old Yubaraj Karki of Ahaldanda, Katari Municipality-3, 46-year-old Lila Bahadur Danuwar of Ward-5 Balaha, 46-year-old Prem Chandra Danuwar of the same address, and 16-year-old Asmita Pariyar of Basere, Katari Municipality-12.
The girl, Binisha, who was trapped inside the house, was rescued in about an hour.
The wind and rain also fell. The shop and the people inside the house were injured when a tree fell on a house with a shop. Among the injured, the homeowner Chaudhary was declared dead by the doctor when he was taken to Katari Hospital for treatment.
Immediately after the news of the incident, a police team including Deputy Superintendent of Police Dong from the Area Police Office, Katari, was deployed to rescue the injured. The Armed Police Force was also deployed in the rescue operation.
On Monday, a strong wind accompanied by rain hit the Katari area of Udayapur, causing damage in places.
