Two people have died in the district after being struck by lightning and falling trees and stones.
Sharmila Tamang, 25, died after being struck by lightning and falling trees in Bhaise, Shadananda Municipality-9, Bhojpur, according to the District Police Office, Bhojpur. She died on the spot after being struck by lightning while sitting at home.
Similarly, Ashish Tamang, 30, died after being struck by falling trees and stones in the Sohara (Pichamma) area of Salpasilicho Rural Municipality-5. Police said that he was temporarily staying at a wood cutting site when he was hit by stones falling from a height of about 60 meters due to the wind and rain.
He was seriously injured after being hit by stones and died on the spot, said DSP Raju Lama, Chief of the District Police Office, Bhojpur. The deceased Tamang is a resident of Deurali, Bhojpur Municipality-9.
