Taplejung The Taplejung road section of the Mechi Highway, which was blocked since 6 am on Saturday, has been reopened since 9 am. It was reopened after three hours of efforts, informed Navin Upreti, Supervisor of the Road Division Office, Ilam.
A landslide had occurred in the Khoksekhola area due to rain. Upreti informed that the road blocked due to the landslide was reopened using a JCB.
According to Upreti, it has been made one-way. The Kabeli-Taplejung road section of the Mechi Highway is being upgraded.
Some time ago, the stones here were broken by blasting. As the upgrade work is ongoing, it is requested to travel only with awareness as obstacles may be created even during normal rain.
