A soldier working in the Durgadal Gulma Taplejung of the Nepal Army has established a revolving fund at the school on the occasion of his birthday.

Pawan Bajgain, a resident of Piple, Khandbari Municipality-8, Sankhuwasabha, has established a revolving fund of Rs 55,555 at Bhanujan Secondary School, Ambitar. Bajgain said that this amount will be increased to Rs 1 lakh 7,777 by the time he retires.

According to the agreement between the school's assistant principal Rajmani Pyakurel and the revolving fund donor Bajgain, at least Rs 5,000 worth of educational materials or cash will be provided to one student every year from its interest.

Pyakurel informed that Bajgain has committed to adding more if the interest amount does not reach Rs 5,000. School Management Committee Chairman Yugraj Gurung thanked Bajgain. The school has stated that the scholarship will be provided every year on Basant Panchami.

Bajgain, who hails from Sankhuwasabha, said that he chose the school with the largest number of students in his workplace, Taplejung, and established the Akshaya Kosh. “My intention was to do something in Pathibhara, but after seeing the facilities and generous donations in Pathibhara, I decided to help the school,” Bajgain said.

He had earlier set up an Akshaya Kosh of Rs 125,525 in the name of his parents, Rohit and Padmakumari Bajgain, at Barun Multiple Campus in Sankhuwasabha, after deducting his wedding expenses.

He had been providing clothes and stationery to the deaf and hard of hearing students studying at the orphanage run by Mats Nepal and Mahendra Secondary School in Manebhanjyang, and had been supporting social work such as providing food to the elderly at the Manakamana Temple.

Bajgain, who had also donated Rs 11,111 to the blood bank in Sankhuwasabha in the name of his grandmother Bhadra Maya, has been participating in blood donation every four months.
