According to Sushil Koirala, Food Inspection Officer of the Food Technology and Quality Control Division Office, it was found that the production date, the best before date and the expiry date of the expired food items and beverages were not displayed. Similarly, according to Bikash Karki, Information Officer of the Cottage and Small Industries Office, some shops did not display price lists and were requested to display them.
He said that they have been warned not to sell non-food items and that action will be taken if they are found to be in violation in the future. Information Officer Karki said that market monitoring has been intensified to ensure that consumers are not cheated.
